Welcome to Puppet Stitches!
First and foremost, I want to clarify that I do not take commissions or build puppets for others. My creations are purely for my own enjoyment and, most importantly, for my daughter’s delight. While I truly appreciate your interest, I kindly ask that you do not request to purchase or commission a puppet from me.
That said, if I ever decide to part with one of my puppets, I may put it up for sale. If that happens, I will make an announcement, so keep an eye out!
What started as a simple project—building an Elmo for my daughter—quickly turned into a full-fledged workshop of creating many different characters. The process is time-consuming, but I’ve grown to love the challenge and the creative freedom it offers. If you’re interested in making your own professional-quality puppet, my best advice is to do some research and just dive in. I strongly recommend starting with an original character rather than attempting a replica right away. Developing your own design will teach you valuable skills that can later be applied to recreating existing characters.
I created this site to document my builds and share the puppet patterns I’ve used. There isn’t a lot of detailed information online about making replica puppets, and I struggled to find helpful resources when I first started. My hope is to give back to the community and inspire others to try their hand at puppet-making. My biggest piece of advice? Just start, take your time, and enjoy the process!
Feel free to explore, learn, and reach out with any questions about my builds. I’m happy to share my experience and help however I can!
